School camp at Tekapo.

We had a good time on school camp. It took an hour and a half to get to our camp. After we arrived we got to explore the camp site. Once we had lunch we went ice skating I hadn't been before so I wasn't very good. After tea we played some team building games. The next morning we had breakfast then we got ready to go skiing. Not many of us had done skiing and snowboarding so it was funny watching people fall over. Later in the night we went into the hot pools. The next day we went tubing. It was really really fun but it makes you feel sick if you get spun. We were going to go biking and walking but it was canceled because there was to much bad weather so we headed home.

On the second day of camp we went skiing for the whole day and some of use had to have lessons because we haven't skied before so we had to be taught how to ski.  We had a whole hour of training and most of use got the hang of it really quick and some took a while but at the end everyone enjoyed it so that's what counts.

School camp

On the 6 August the year sevens and I went to Tekapo for school camp, we went to Round hill ski field. It was my first time skiing so I was doing lessons and was on the normal track, A few people were allowed on the advanced slope. Once I got the hang of I started going up the pomar and skiing down, After that I started racing with my friends .

On the first day of camp we went ice skating. At first it was pretty hard for some people but then after a while most of us got the hang of it. It was really fun because everyone enjoyed them self.

 On the second day we went skiing, mostly everybody had never been skiing before. Everybody got a lesson on how to stop start and turn. We spent about half a day there. That night we went to the hot pools, it was really nice because everyone's feet were sore from skiing.

 On the third day we went snow tubing in the morning. It was so fun because we went really fast on the snow. We had to sit in a snow tube, some of them were double tubes. There were some plastic bottom ones and some canvas bottom ones, the canvas tubes went faster than the plastic ones.

 We really enjoyed camp because it was a fun experience and we all gave everything a go.

Secrets behind the door

We walk in silence scared of what we might find in the old haunted house we are approaching. The boys dared us to knock on the door and ask to come in. Ineka said I had to knock. I step onto the steps knock twice then step back down.

Out comes an old women in raged clothes and knotty hair. She says "What do you want!" in a croaky old voice. I notice I am alone my friends must have took off down the street. "I-I-I just was um wondering if I could come in" I said. "Who do you think you are wanting to come into my house, I don't even know you" she said in that voice again.

Suddenly I notice something climbing over the women's shoulder, something way out of the ordinary. I take a closer look and realise it's a dragon! Without any warning  the dragon starts shooting green balls of fire at me! I duck the fire balls barely missing my hair. "What was that for" I bellow at the women. She just cackles and slams the door right in my face. I am so so angry. I take off down the street planning what I might do next to get the women back.

Buddy Writing

In Buddy Writing we have been focusing on using a picture to inspire our writing. The first week we unpacked the picture and put all our ideas down. We used these ideas to come up with a story all together.

Tekapo Camp

Camp was extremely fun and we had a great time skiing, ice skating and snow tubing. It is one of the best camps I have been on!!

Cooking Technology.

Every Thursday Sonic take a trip down to Lincoln Primaray School and do Technolgy. There are 4 subjects, Cooking, Textiles, Wood work and Science. You rotate around these subjects every term so you will get a chance in all of them! This is my group and I making Lemon muffins on time-laps.

This was my cabin from camp the people in it were Ineka, Brodie, Georgia a and Georgia p.
My favourite part on camp was the skiing at roundhill.

Space alphabet

We had to write in words that involves something about space for example if the letter was P it would be Pluto or another word to do with space. For "A" I did astronaut  for "B" I did Black hole and for "C" I did comet.      

Cabin 4

Last week all the year 7's went on camp.
I was in cabin 4.
It was by far the best cabin because most of the cabin was clean, we went to bed early and were the best behaved.

Writing Explanations

Team Sonic have been working on explanations for writing. To connect to our theme for inquiry, we wrote explanations on why we have seasons. We have learnt to set out explanations and order our thinking.

Peace day paper cranes

On Thursday 6 August the year 8 group helped the younger students learn how to make peace day paper cranes in memory of Sadako Sasaki. We all found teaching the younger ones a challenge but it was a good challenge that we all coped well with.

Mrs P was a very helpful part of learning how to make the cranes and organising the day for us. I had a lot of fun and would recommend giving paper crane folding a go. You can find instructions and the story of Sadako on the internet.

Part One

Yahhhhhhhhhhh the new chickens have finally arrived.

It was lunch, Sevao was quite hungry like everyone else on a school day. “What’s in my lunch today?” asks Sevao to himself. “Euuuuuuummmmmmmm! Delicious KFC.” Sevao picks up a delicious chicken drumstick as the fire alarm goes off. Sevao scoffs his lunch and walks to the field.

“Oh no!” yells a random person on the field. “The chickens have escaped.” Sevao runs with excitement to find that the area has been roped off and Simon with his hand out trying to put a chicken back in his cage. Sevao laughs out of shock as a chicken jumps and pecks out Simon's eyeballs and then eats the flesh off his arms. RABIES! Sevao thought.

Sevao hears the principal say to one of the teachers, “It’s not my fault. I bought those chickens from a psycho lab.”

Sevao leans over the rope as a chicken flies over and bites his legs. “Call 111!” yells out a random man. “He's been bitten.” Sevao has a headache, he can’t

stand the noise. “Those bushes,” Sevao thinks. He crawls towards the bushes silently, unnoticed. He falls into a deep sleep.

Sevao wakes up in chains in an underground base but Sevao did not seem the same. His eyes were red, his face was pale, in fact his whole body was pale. Not just any type of pale; a dark evil type of pale.

The chains drop from Sevao’s shoulder. Sevao is no longer a human. He is a walking soul-less creature. Sevao passes out once again. But this time he woke up in class looking the same as usual. The bell rang 5 mins later.

Sevao gets in a fight with some kid named Elijah. Sevao is wasting him until Elijah picks up a stick and starts whacking him. Sevaos arm folds and a gun with 3 knives pops out. Bullets spray everywhere until Elijah is lying on the floor crying. A red ray pops out of Sevaos forehead and disintegrates the stick that Elijah was using to whack him with.
